Arthur was married and had four sons. He was a 50-year plus Mason; he was a Past Master of Loyalty Lodge and a Past Patron of Ellsworth Chapter, Order of ES. He was a charter member and third president of the Akron Kiwanis Club and belonged to the Civic Association of Richfield. He was a partner for 15 years with his Brother Harry F. (a PM of Meridian Sun Lodge) in a General Store in Richfield before he moved to Akron and acquired the Studebaker Auto Agency. He also handled Nash & Federal Trucks. Arthur was a Past President of the Auto Dealers Association of Akron.
