He is the son of Thomas E. Ellsworth. He was manager of the Cabinet Making & Undertaking Shop and at one time served as the town’s Mortician. He served on a jury May 28, 1871, that indicted a man for murder in the death of a woman.  He lived in the Richfield area and was a Trustee for Richfield in 1891. He is listed in the 1870 Summit County, OH census as being 38, born in OH, married with three children, occupation was Cabinet Mak,r. and his net worth is $6,000.  In 1862, R.C. Ellsworth was one of three men in Richfield who under their direction trained thirty men for the first draft in the Civil War.
