Mel was married, lived in Richfield and had 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. He worked at American Steel & Wire in Cleveland, OH. He was very active in the community and was serving on the School Board when Bath & Revere School districts merged. Mel was an excellent organizer and loved old cars. He served his Lodge as LEO. Mel, as I stated earlier, compiled the “Sesquicentennial (150 year) History, 1824-1974”, and published it on June 8, 1974. (Akron Beacon Journal obits 1985). Gene Mortimer was telling about the delicious Oyster Stew dinners that Mel would put on during his year as Master.
